Gentle Bach Flower Dance with Jean

An Evening class of Gentle Bach flower dance with Jean.

Location: Community Centre

‘ At the still point of the turning world that is where the dance is. Except for the point, the still point, there would be no dance, and there is only the dance.’

T.S.Eliot.

Sacred dance has been part of the human journey since ancient times. In many countries dance was and still is part of community gatherings to celebrate births, marriages and significant events throughout the year. It is also a form of meditation in movement. Dance adds to the wellbeing of all who dance together in the circle. Dances have been collected from around the world.

Bach Flower dances carry the remedy within them in alignment with those discovered by Dr Edward Bach. At its core, dance serves as a soulful language, transcending words to connect with the divine. Sacred dance, or sacred movement, reflects the spiritual essence of dance bridging the earthly and the divine. Through harmonized hand movements, rhythmic footsteps, or cosmic spirals, sacred dance fosters unity, reverence, and transformation.

I have received training in Bach Flower Remedies Dances and Nature Dances under the guidance of Martine Winnington. Additionally, I have studied the choreographies of Bernhard Wosien, a pioneer in researching the origins and intentions of traditional European dances. His daughter - Gabriel Wosien - furthered this dance legacy by incorporating the mystic tradition of dance as prayer.

More recently, I have trained under Susanah Barthlomi to qualify as a facilitator for both the ‘Christmas Oratorio’ - a selection of dances celebrating the mystery of the Christmas story -and ‘The Misa Criolla’ - a celebration of the Spanish translation of the traditional liturgical text composed by Ariel Ramirez and choreographed by Nanni Kloke; and also ‘Deepening the Dance’ - a training which introduces an in-
depth exploration of movement dynamics and dance.
